They say Scout is part Great Pyrenees, a large, gorgeous, white mountain dog. As a puppy she showed promise, but as a grown girl, she's not nearly big enough. I'm not complaining. Even still, I have no doubt there is some Pyrenees in her. She's got one of their characteristics that can't be ignored... crazy toes. Great Pyrenees are known to have a double dew claw on their rear feet, and Scout is lucky enough to have inherited this trait. They're quite bizarre and comical to look at. In fact, they remind me of those socks I used to wear as a child that had the little pom-poms at the heel. Just another one of those little things that make her irresistible.

To Bee or Not To Bee
I came home from work one day last week, a day I had left the dogs in the yard. It was a beautiful fall day, and they were enjoying the weather. I walked in the door to discover something was amiss with Scout. It seems she was stung or bitten by something, a bee perhaps, and her muzzle was swelling up. If it wasn't so alarming, I would have laughed at her. It wasn't serious. Nothing a little Benadryl couldn't fix, and she didn't seem to mind one bit.
